Welcome to The Spot Community Services ltd The Spot Community Services Ltd began in 1996 as an initiative of Southside Community Church, and later registered as a limited not for profit company with a non-sectarian approach to its activities. Initially The Spot was a youth drop-in centre based in an empty warehouse and a volunteer staff of five people. In 2009 The Spot offers the Logan community various prevention & early intervention, emergency and long-term services, developed to cater for the needs of children, youth, adults and families. These services include therapeutic children's programmes through Spot 4 Kidz, a number of education, training and youth support programmes develop by The Spot Youth and Workout which provides training for women looking to re-enter the workforce. Currently The Spot operates a number of social enterprises consisting of Spot on Homes, Spot 4 Kidz Action, Southpaw studios record label, The Rock adventure specialists, Round Robin design and photography, Spot 4 Kidz Professional Development and The Brave. These servies were developed with two goals; the first goal was to create an enviroment for participants in The Spot programs to gain practical skills and experience in a range of areas, the second goal was to create an income outside of government and community support. The Spot is currently staffed by over 30 employees and a number of dedicated volunteers and serves approximately 500 young people and families in any given week.
